This is a new year (2023) and you definitely have your own role to play in protecting yourself from avoidable hazards in the year.
Therefore, there’s no wisdom in allowing something that costs less than Three thousand Naira( the estimated cost of 6 yards of good quality hose) to cause grievous bodily harm to you or destroy your precious property.
The hose that connects your gas cylinder (via the gas regulator) to the gas cooker is something you need to give adequate attention to avoid unpalatable stories.
This is so, since the cracking or rupture of the hose during the cooking process will allow gas to spill onto the fire and cause severe burns to anyone nearby and even destroy the property, if the situation is not promptly arrested.
When to change the gas hose
You need to inspect your gas hose regularly for early signs of cracks. Once you see tiny cracks appearing on the gas hose, it is time to replace it.
Also, when you notice your hose is getting very stiff and hard, it has most likely expired and needs to be replaced.
Where to purchase your gas hose
Be certain that you purchase your gas hose from a reliable gas appliance vendor to avoid ending up with a fake/substandard hose that will fail in a short period of time.
A brand new good quality gas hose usually has a lifespan of about 5 years, while a new substandard hose can fail and rupture in less than a year.
