Using a 3kg, 5kg, 6kg, 8kg, 10kg or 12.5kg camp gas cylinder with a Table/Standing cooker produces the same cooking result as the popular standard valve 12.5kg cylinder.
However, the poor durability of the camp gas regulator (especially the ones imported into Nigeria from some Asian countries) presents the major problem with its use.
The camp gas regulators which are fastened into the threaded inlet/outlet of the camp gas cylinders wear out quickly, unlike the regulator used for the popular standard valve 12.5kg cylinders, which are durable.
The threading of most of the camp gas regulators currently available in Nigeria typically wear out in about a year or less, depending on the frequency of gas refill.
Note that the frequency of gas refill will determine the rate at which the threading of a camp gas regulator will wear out, because the regulator must be detached whenever gas is to be dispensed into the cylinder.
When the threading of a camp gas regulator wears out, it doesn’t fit well into the threaded inlet/outlet of the cylinder’s valve and becomes unusable.
This problem is non-existent with the common standard valve cylinder, which makes it a better choice.
