Without taking anything away from other top LPG Pump brands around the world, there are three brands that have succeeded in distinguishing themselves remarkably over the years in Nigeria’s LPG industry, namely, Blackmer, Corken and Sihi.
These LPG Pump brands have been able to perform optimally, pumping the low pressure LPG – that has a higher percentage of butane, consumed in Nigeria.
Blackmer, Corken and Sihi LPG Pumps, have all proven to be compatible with the prevailing climatic conditions in Nigeria and have so far lived up to the high expectations of Nigerian LPG engineers and stakeholders.
2, 21/2 or 3 Inch Blackmer Sliding Vane LPG Pump
· It is the most commonly used pump in standard LPG Refilling Plants across the country
· The LGLD2 and LGLD3 models of Blacker, are mounted on most LPG Bobtails in Nigeria
· The Blackmer LPG Pump is designed with a special cavitation suppression feature, which minimizes its vibration and reduces wear, making it very durable
· At 220-500 Liters/Minute, it is a pump that delivers gas to the LPG Dispenser at a high speed for the rapid filling of LPG cylinders
· Blackmer’s superior sliding vane technology makes it suitable for long, undulating piping runs
· Blackmer pumps are self-priming(self-adjusting) and very easy to service/maintain
· It’s spare parts are readily available in the Nigerian market and are quite affordable
· With its special cavitation suppression feature, Blackmer is silent in operation
· Blackmer Pumps can run for long hours without damage to its pumping chamber or vanes
· Blackmer Pumps have high volumetric efficiency, which makes it pump large quantities of LPG at lower motor speeds and less horsepower, than other positive displacement pumps.
· It can run dry (with only gas vapor in its pumping chamber after liquid gas is exhausted in the LPG tank.)
· Overall, the 2”, 21/2” and 3” Blackmer LPG Pump is a fantastic pump for LPG Plants of 10, 20, 30, 40 and 80 Metric Tons. Higher capacity LPG Pumps can be used, depending on the overall piping distances and number of dispensing points
Corken Sliding Vane LPG Pump
· It is next to Blackmer, in terms of popularity and use in standard LPG Plants in Nigeria
· It is simple to install, with its FPT bolt-on flanges
· With its heavy-duty roller bearings which reduce side plates, the durability of Corken LPG Pump is almost second to none
· Its hydraulically self-adjusting blades are easy to replace, making it easy to service and maintain
· With a max RPM of 780-950, Corken pumps gas at a fast rate
· Its self-adjusting vanes enhance its pumping performance
· Corken pump is equipped with a pre-set non-adjustable internal relief system that ensures the pump is not over-pressurized
Sihi Side Channel LPG Pump
· Sihi LPG Side Channel LPG Pumps are self-priming, quiet in operation and amazingly reliable
· At speeds of up to 1750 RPM, Sihi delivers LPG at a very fast rate to LPG dispenser
· Its floating impellers are very strong and easy to replace
· Sihi pumps are very durable
· The pump can run for several hours non-stop without damage to its pumping chamber or impeller
· It is capable of pumping LPG under very difficult suction conditions such as from underground LPG storage tanks
· Generally speaking, the Sihi pump is an excellent pump that works well in 10, 20, 30,40 Metric Tons and higher capacity LPG Plants.
