Stainless Gas Cooker (Advantages)
• The cooker can still be refurbished even after the surface stainless sheet has undergone corrosion.
• It lasts longer than glass cookers.
• Its control which is better covered and protected from salty water and food particles, doesn’t get stiff and unresponsive easily.
• Stainless gas cookers can withstand rough handling unlike glass cookers.
• It is more affordable than a glass cooker.
Stainless Gas Cooker (Disadvantages)
• It is vulnerable to corrosion (rust) when the salty water that pours on it reacts with air.
• Cleaning it is more cumbersome because food particles/residues stick to it.
• It is less physically attractive and appealing than glass cookers.
Glass Gas Cooker (Advantages)
• Its shiny surface makes it very easy to clean. Oil and food particles/residues hardly stick to it and are easily removed.
• Aesthetics: It is more physically attractive and appealing than the stainless cooker.
• The glass surface of the cooker does not corrode (rust) unlike a stainless steel cooker.
Glass Gas Cooker (Disadvantages)
• It must be handled with special care to prevent cracks or damage.
• Low and medium quality glass cookers can shatter within 1-2 years of use.
• Its design makes it easy for food particles and residues to accumulate in the control housing, which causes the control to become stiff and unresponsive.
• The cost of replacing the surface glass when it breaks is prohibitive.
• Spaces around the burner allow salty water and oil to flow underneath the cooker to the metal frame and bottom of the burner to cause serious corrosion.
