There’s no iota of doubt whatsoever that the detection of leakage in your gas system, is definitely in your best interest. Beside the rapid depletion of your cooking gas, your life and property can be at great risk, when there’s an undetected leakage of gas in the cooking gas system in your home.
Hissing Sound in your Cooking Gas System
In most cases, a hissing sound can be heard from the body or valve of your cylinder, when it is leaking. Hissing sounds that emanate from your hose, burner or cooker, also clearly indicate that there’s leakage in the system.
The tracing of the hissing sound should be done to pinpoint the leaking points, so that the appropriate action can be taken.
Unpleasant Odor
When an unpleasant smell pervades the atmosphere in your kitchen or anywhere your cooking gas system is kept, you can be sure there’s a leakage at some point in the system. Investigate the source of the leakage without any hesitation.
Soapy Water Test
The pungent smell in your kitchen, as well as any suspicion of leakage in your cooking gas system, can be confirmed by carrying out the very simple soapy water test.
Prepare a solution of soapy water and apply it all over your cylinder, hose, regulator and burner. The formations of bubbles indicate leakage.
