1. Nipco Gas Company
The dramatic story of the revival of Nigeria’s LPG (Cooking Gas) Industry from its comatose state, which began in 2007, will be incomplete without the inclusion of the timely intervention of Nipco Gas, which rose gallantly to the occasion by constructing a 5000 Metric Tons LPG depot at a time other companies were either skeptical or reluctant in making an investment of that magnitude in the “uncertain” industry.
At a time PPMC Apapa (a subsidiary of the National Petroleum Corporation of Nigeria) was the only depot serving the whole country, the coming on stream of the 5000 MT Nipco LPG depot brought succor to the beleaguered industry by substantially improving the cooking gas supply in the country.
Nipco Gas has since waxed stronger by proceeding to increase the capacity of its LPG depot to 11,000 MT, amongst the addition of other strategic assets such as the setting up of about 39 Gas Stations, spread all over the country and the procurement of a huge number of LPG Bridgers to transport cooking gas to all the nooks and crannies of Nigeria.

The list of the top 10 LPG industry giants in Nigeria will be very questionable, to say the least, if it doesn't include Matrix Energy: the company that changed the LPG supply equation in the South-South and South-East regions of the country by constructing an ultra-modern 5000 Metric Tons LPG depot in Warri, Delta State.
The commissioning of the gargantuan first-class facility sparked a boisterous celebration(and understandably so) in the camp of LPG plant owners in the South-South, South-East and North-Western parts of the country, who hitherto sent their trucks all the way to the depots in Lagos at a high cost and risk, to load LPG(Cooking Gas).
The Oil and Gas Company which has garnered a stellar reputation in the transportation of petroleum products over the years, has invested massively in the LPG sector in the country by constructing several world-class LPG plants, procuring up to 65 trucks for the seamless haulage of the product and the acquisition of ocean-going LPG vessel(s) for transporting LPG from the production plant to its depot.
From all rational indications, Matrix Gas has come to stay in Nigeria’s LPG industry and its star will continue to shine brighter and brighter as the years roll-by.
