The influx of highly substandard cooking gas components into the country, with a special focus on the camp gas burner control, is Niglpgas.com’s Public Complaint of the month.        

The burner control, with which the burner is turned on or off, is probably the most critical part of a campgas system.

It has been observed severally at LPG Refilling Plants and Retail Outlets that most burner controls let out gas from the gas orifice in the control, even when it is completely locked.

Contrary to all reasonable expectation, this also happens with brand new burner controls.

While it may be quite understandable when the control of a well-used burner is found to be letting out a small quantity of gas vapor when locked, it is unacceptable for the control of a brand new burner to be leaking substantial quantities of gas vapor, as it is the case with a high percentage of burner controls in the market today.

Calling a spade a spade without looking at anybody’s squeezed face, some countries where these inferior gas components are being produced seem to be sending to Nigeria – what they can’t put up for sale in their own countries.

These countries should be made to know that Nigeria is not a dumping ground for inferior quality goods.

Regulatory agencies like the standard organization of Nigeria and the Nigeria Customs Service need to do more to prevent these inferior quality burner controls from exiting the ports and entering the market.

The importers of these substandard items should also be patriotic by importing only items that are of superior quality into the country.

Leaking burners controls waste gas and result in the fast depletion of the financial resources of the good people of Nigeria.

Niglpgas.com is firmly against anything that will waste the financial resources and put the lives of the good people of Nigeria in danger.

Therefore, all hands must be on deck to checkmate the influx of substandard burner controls into Nigeria.
